ViewEXT - Data Viewing and Analysis Program

Summary:

ViewEXT is a data analysis tool which I programmed for analyzing patterns in the signals from the olfactory glomeruli from mice and rats. Below are two images which show the glomeruli before and after an odor is presented.  Notice the when the odor is presented, the glomeruli light up as the dyes are excited from neural firing.  These signals are analyzed by ViewEXT.  ViewEXT is able to correlate sniffs with neuron firing.  Figure 1 shows a sample sniff signal with peaks detected.  Figure 2 shows a signal-to-noise (SNR) map of each file and all glomeruli of interest.  This map can be used to quickly identify glomeruli that are correlating well with the sniffs and have large SNR.  Figures 3, 4, and 5 show signals and outputs which ViewEXT generates.  ViewEXT is capable of peak detection, signal deconvolution, signal-to-noise calculation, plotting signals, extracting relevant information, calculating and predicting response and many more.
